"No, It's Not English Cookies...
nor is it British brownies. We had English muffins at breakfast (lol)" Sunday morning I had to explain to Jessica from Germany that what she had just eaten was an English muffin. She got so confused, but it was cute so I'm going to start calling it a British brownie. Fantastic. Went for a stroll in Central Park and then went to Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall. Bad news because it was like walking 4 billion miles and, get this, I didn't buy anything! What a tragic thing. My new friends and I didn't get back to the city until like 8:30pm. I was dead tired but got a second wind so I ended up making more friends in the TV room. I'm such a social butterfly! Today I splurged and got a mani/pedi and got my hair done. I should look fierce for my first day of work Wednesday. Almost can't hold in the excitment!

First Full Day in NYC
So I wake up this morning (Friday) and eat breakfast in our apartment dining room. The food was mediocre at best, but I made it a point to meet some new people. So exciting because I made like 6 news friends in one day! Some are from Germany, England, Scotland, Louisiana, etc. So many different cultures and interesting things to learn. Loving it!
Despite making some friends I spent the majority of the day by myself. Rode the subway to where I will be working so I can have a fool-proof route and went in to see if my ID was made. It wasn't, but I was so excited just to be in my future office building! I cannot wait to go to work Wednesday! Walked in Central Park a little and watched kids play on the playground. I chatted with a nice nanny and proceeded to leave so I wouldn't look suspicious. Came back to my apartment and had some Quiznos for lunch (Those Flatbread Lil' Sammies are the shit!) Of course I had to take my daily nap afterward and wandered around until I met Jessica from Germany for dinner.
At dinner I met a whole host of new people and we all went to the movie theater to see Atonement. Great movie, just a bit all over the place as far as the timeline was concerned. It was a mix of genres I love; romance, drama, action. Atonement was poignant and sweet. I then proceeded to spend the rest of the night gabbing away (what I do best!).
Tomorrow should be interesting, going to the 24/7 all glass Apple Store and putzing around with Lauren from Louisiana. Forgot to mention that I saw Lauren Graham aka Laurelai Gilmore on Gilmore girls at the airport! CELEB SIGHTING #1. I will be keeping count!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone! Hopefully Santa was as good to you as he was to me this year! Packing for NYC is nooo fun. All of my clothes are everywhere and I will be fighting with my suitcases in the airport (I have two...ugh). Nonetheless it will be fabulous because I will be on my way to NYC in less than 48 hours ;) For the past few days I have been so anxious and excited, I felt as though I could run a marathon; heart and mind racing feverishly. I hope I sit beside cool people on the plane....

I'm Living in a Sea of Clothes
I, being the smart person that I am, decided to wait until last minute to start packing for New York. The Bad Idea Award of 2007 goes to.....ME. My bedroom is covered in piles of clothing with any semblance of organization nowhere in sight. The suitcase is big enough, that I can fit in it (I can just see myself in LGA wrestling with the monstrosity) and cumbersome to maneuver.
Today was good in that I got to see my BFFs before Christmas craziness starts. Got a lovely pair of earrings and a journal from Rach and eyeshadow primer from Jen. I think we are going to ravage the mall one last time the day after Christmas and leave our mark on all that is fabulous.
I'm getting emotional and nervous about the impending trip at hand. My life is going to be so interesting, pivitol, life-changing, etc. It's going to be one for the books (or this nifty little online blog lol).

THE MANUAL!
Ok, so I got an email from my new boss at MC and attached was the "intern manual". Fifteen pages of instructions for my life as a fabulous fashion intern! I went bananas and basically have been reading it everyday and trying to memorize all of the info. That and I have nine other coworkers that I cannot wait to meet! I'm insane, I know this, but childhood dreams are coming to fruition. I counted and I have like 6 full days left at home (toooo many).

School's Out!
School's out for the semester and the living is easy! Passed economics so no community college for me or a damper on my impending move to NYC! The days are being laboriously counted and my arithmetic is being put to the test: 11 DAYS AWAY!

The Anticipation is Killing Me!
Finishing up the last weeks of school is taking its toll on me. Class is becoming pointless and exams can't come soon enough. So ready to move to New York and start my new, exciting career as a magazine intern! Thank God my housing is finalized because that was my main heart attack waiting to happen. I have exactly 23 days until I can take a bite out of the Big Apple and make my mark! I don't know where this journey is going to take me, but that is the beauty of it. I'm scared, thrilled, nervous, and hopeful all at the same time. This will be one journey I will never forget.
